The dancers were phenomenal. The first hour was a wave of different performances. A couple in red, glittery outfits did a tap dance. The cameramen had to stop and re-start the recording when one of the dancers tripped and fell during a spin. “AUDIENCE! LET’S GIVE THEM OUR SUPPORT. EVERYONE START APPLAUDING AND CHEERING!” the announcer called. Immediately, everyone in the crowd started to clap their hands and stomp their feet. Kurl was going crazy. He looked about ready to jump over the balcony railing. “YEAH! WOOOO!” he yelled, stomping his feet. He grabbed Sarah and pulled her body in front of his. He planted a sloppy, wet kiss on her neck. “Ew, gross!” Sarah giggled. When she tried to wipe off her neck, Kurl took the opportunity to plant another kiss on her skin. “I’m full of Kurl germs,” Sarah mumbled, trying to turn her head to look up at him. Kurl gave her a light peck on the forehead. “Come on, Little Bunny. Let’s HOP!” He took her hands and made her clap them together. He started jumping up and down behind her. The motion forced her to do an awkward hop herself. “I’m in heels! Hopping isn’t really happening for me right now!” Sarah yelled up to him. Kurl ran his hands up and down her waist. He pushed his fingertips hard against her hips, and slid them slowly down her dress. The sensation sent her brain buzzing. Television cameras panned the room. My parents might see this! Sarah thought with alarm. She pried Kurl’s hands away from her sensitive stomach and wrapped them in a safer place around her shoulders. Kurl’s chest vibrated with laughter behind her. “Still shy, Little Bunny? We’ll have to change that soon.” He placed his cheek up against hers, resting his chin on the base of her neck. He squeezed her tightly against him.The couple in red costumes had just completed their split leaps. They landed in sync and bowed. The audience burst into applause. The main lights shot back on. “Thank you, Shannon and Peter! That was superb! Now, where are Betty and Henrique?” a manager in a suit called from the floor. The music had resumed its background noise while the new dancers made their way to the center of the stage. The dancer couple spoke with the manager and several other people on his team. The camera crew shifted their equipment to new angles around the floor to capture different views. “Betty! Twirl in from the left side. Henrique, we want you to start on the ground over there.” The manager continued to march around the stage, pointing and shouting commands. The dancers, who wore green flowy costumes, took their places. The lights dimmed and the music changed to a ballroom waltz. The dancers began their elegant performance. Sarah felt her head swaying from side to side as she watched them spin around the room. But the manager must not have liked what he saw. “REDO!” he called. “I want to see CHEMISTRY! I don’t feel ANYTHING! Make me love you. Muah! Muah!” He threw them air kisses. The music stopped. The dancers returned back to their original positions. Sarah watched the dancer, Betty, let out a loud sigh. She looked irritated at the criticism. She turned back around and lifted her arms high in the air to restart her floor routine. The waltz music started to play. Betty flung out her arms. Leaning back, she twirled more gracefully towards Henrique. The male dancer caught her in his arms. He put a hand on her waist and they began to glide, together, across the floor. The manager’s voice yelled out again. “REDO!”
