Bent’s laughter didn’t last long. Once he’d composed himself, he rolled his legs backwards and then whipped them forwards, launching his body up off the floor, back to a standing position. “Sorry,” he muttered, keeping his back to her. He stormed out of the bathroom, slamming the door shut behind him. Sarah wasn’t sure how long she stood frozen against the sink. She turned and looked at her reflection in the mirror. A part of her wanted to burst into tears. Being caught in the nude literally had to be the absolute epitome of humiliation. But she couldn’t force herself to cry. For some reason, the tears wouldn’t come. She decided she was too stunned. She moved her towel to the side, taking a step back to examine her body in the mirror. Well…I don’t look THAT bad, she decided. Her figure wasn’t perfect by any means, and she probably could have used some tanner and lotion. She put her hands to her face and started to giggle. At least it was Bent who saw you, she thought, trying to catch her breath. You’re sharing HIS bathroom. He was probably bound to witness you without clothes AT SOME POINT. So at least it’s over now. She took a deep breath. “He has to be more embarrassed than I am,” she murmured. That made her feel immensely better. She told herself that you cannot let him get to you regardless of what happened. Just try to act like you DON’T CARE.She opened the bathroom door and poked her head out. The coast was clear. His room was empty. Ugh, and to think I have to spend the ENTIRE weekend with him! Honestly, it was pretty funny. He’d looked SO shocked at seeing her.She picked the T-shirt and sweatpants up off the gold couch. She checked the room again to ensure she was still alone. “Nope, can’t take any more chances,” Sarah grumbled. She dragged herself back into the bathroom to change. When she was dressed, she emerged from the bathroom and picked up her bags, looping them around her shoulder. She checked her phone and saw it was way earlier in the morning than she had guessed. Her eyes flicked to the gold couch. Why not take that secret passageway? She walked over to the couch, and copying what Bent had done, grabbed its side and tried to slide it over. But the couch…wouldn’t budge!Annoyed, Sarah set down her bags and threw her weight against the couch, trying to force it to move. After three failed attempts, she gave up. “I doubt you’ll be able to lift that,” Bent said behind her.Sarah screamed and whirled around. “Don’t sneak up on me like that!” she said. He sneered at her. Somehow he looked even more handsome than ever. “It’s my house. I can do whatever I want,” he snapped. “Like seeing me naked,” Sarah hissed. Bent’s eyes glowed with rage. “I said I was sorry.” Sarah crossed her arms. “Forget it. So…how come you can lift up this couch but I can’t?” she asked. “You’re not strong enough to lift it,” he said with a smirk.Sarah glared. “Come on. There has to be a catch.” She gave the couch a slight kick with her foot. She was that frustrated. “No catch. This couch weighs several hundred pounds. It’s made of gold you know,” he said, his eyes twinkling. Sarah frowned. “Well, I happen to be very strong. I work out a lot, too.” Bent combed his fingers through his silky hair. “Compared to me, you’re weak.” To prove his point, he casually strolled over to the gold couch and lifted the end of it with one hand. The secret panel in the floor slid open.”” You’re just showing off,” Sarah said, picking up her bags. Bent chuckled at her annoyance. He stepped aside to allow her to walk past him, down the staircase. It was cold in the tunnel. And dark. Tiny lights, embedded in the walls, blinked on as she made her way down the stairs. When she reached the ground, she turned to face Bent. His eyes were still twinkling, indicating he was in a playful mood. “Are you lost?” he asked, taking a step closer to her. Sarah felt her heart start to pound in her chest. He was way too delicious in the dark when he stood this close. She backed away from him. “No, I’m not lost. I can figure out how to get out of here,” she said. “How about we head for the kitchen?”Bent licked his lips, studying her. “All right then. Lead the way, explorer,” he teased. Sarah snorted. It couldn’t be that hard to get around this passageway. She let her eyes take in the dizzying number of staircases that spiraled up and away in the darkness. Now what? she thought. She walked slowly along, examining each staircase she passed. They all look EXACTLY THE SAME, she soon realized in extreme agitation. Her eyes darted in every direction as she tried to decide which way to go. To make matters worse, she could hear Bent laughing quietly at her expense as he trudged along behind her.One of the staircases had a light shining at the top of it. She guessed in a big house, he wouldn’t leave lights on unless there was a reason for him to return to that room. She pointed upwards. “I bet the kitchen is up there. It’s clearly why the light is still on.”Bent’s grin faltered for a moment. He didn’t reply. Oh my gosh, I got it right!!! Sarah realized, her heart soaring. She ran up the stairs and pulled open the door. A bright light blinded her. Stunned, she lost her footing. Letting out a soft scream, she started to fall.
