Life is happier and so much brighter.
I was the happiest she-wolf on earth when Franklin popped the question on my graduation day. After me, Amelia and Apollo graduated and threw our caps in the air, he got down on one knee and proposed to me. He didn’t even use the ring he was supposedly giving to Nikki. He bought a new one, bigger rock and more expensive. I told him it was too much but he replied that his love for me was too much.
I stood in front of the mirror taking in my reflection with a squealing Amelia behind me and a teared up mother, Gabie. They both agreed that this dress that was fitting and simple yet elegant, it was perfect. Amelia was my maid-of-honor and Apollo was the best man. Gabie and Amelia would stay with me 24/7 to plan the wedding and I barely got to see Frank, Apollo, and my father. The pack members were thrilled and I got to know every single one of them. They all loved me and I the same. They welcomed me as the Luna and I happily accepted. The two packs, Elite Pack and the Moonlight Pack were now my family. All of them got along and none kept grudges or held dagger glares.
Everything was at peace and I knew that no evil, no person, and no memory could ruin this moment.

“I’m so proud of you Vivian!” My father said as he hugged me tightly, “Toni! Don’t hug her too tight you might get wrinkles on her dress or smear her make up,” mother said as she hit dad’s shoulder making him chuckle. “We are happy for you dear,” my mother said as she gave me a kiss on the cheek. Me and Gabie were close now that I accepted her fully as my mother. Never again would I have to call her Gabie. “Frank is so gonna tear off that dress when you are–” Amelia was cut off by the warning glare of my father making me giggle.
Apollo then came forward and gave me a hug and whispered “I told you everything’s gonna be alright,” we pulled away and I looked into Apollo’s eyes “Thank you Apollo for always being there for me. I wouldn’t know what would of happened to me if you weren’t there,” I said as I caressed his cheek like a sister would do to her brother. He smirked and said “You would be dead,” My jaw dropped and I hit him while we both shared a small laugh. Suddenly I heard music playing and my heart was beating furiously inside my chest.
“It’s time,” my mother said with a bright smile, I was nervous and excited at the same time. My knees were buckling and my hands were trembling. Was I ready to get married? Yes, as long as Frank was at the end waiting for me then everything will be more than alright. Everything would be perfect and once we say our vows and exchange of rings I would finally be someone else, I would be Franklin’s wife, the Luna of the Elite Pack and most of all I would be Vivian Bush.
Apollo and Amelia smirked at me as they made their way to the runway in the gardens their hands entwined and walked together as Maid-of-honor and best man. My mother and father looked at me with so much love in their eyes, I let out a breath that I have been holding in ever since all this drama happened. It was finally over, all the drama, the bullying and all the sadness. I was finally happy.
Even though I had to lose so much, especially my best friend. Audrey, yeah she betrayed me but it was all because of the bond that she had with Donald. When we both made up I know that deep inside we both had plans together like graduating together and she would be my maid-of-honor at my wedding but she wasn’t here and that made me sad.
“Ready?” my father asked me as he held out his arm for me to hold on, I nodded with a small smile and my mother went to the other side of me and grabbed my arm gently squeezing it. “Can’t believe you are getting married,” my mother said as tears started appearing in her eyes. Me and my dad laughed lightly and I said “Wait till I have my first child,” my dad shooting me a warning glare making me laugh. Then another music sounded through the room, the bride’s music, my cue.
I took a deep breath as me and my parents started walking, and as I came in view with the people, blood rose to my cheeks but as my hazel eyes landed on Franklin my eyes were only on him and no one else it was like it was just me and him in the world. Time stood still as he smiled at me with that dashing killer smile. He looked extremely hot and handsome wearing a tux with a bow-tie. Especially it hugged his muscles and chest. God I was one lucky girl.
My dad gave me a hug and so did my mother as they gave my arm to Franklin whose eyes wouldn’t leave mine and I wanted it to stay that way. We then moved closer to the judge and one of the werewolf elders to finally bind us by marriage. Franklin then moved closer to my ear and whispered “You look absolutely stunning,” Making me blush even more than before. The judge then started to speak and when it was finally time to say our vows I was nervous since I made mine the last minute,
I smiled as I started saying my vow to Franklin “Yesterday, I was in darkness. Today, you’re here and I know that everything will be clear, you shine the light in my darkness places and you are my hope in hopeless paces. I promise to love you, Franklin Bush, with tenderness and unselfish love. With all my heart, I will always seek to strengthen you, comfort you, encourage you, and hold you up when you are down. In the presence of our loved ones and these our witnesses, I pledge you my faithfulness and eternal love, from this day forward.” Then I put on his ring, he also got my ring and started his vow, “Vivian Hills, You are my love, my best friend, my most valued treasure, my greatest source of joy and support– MINE!” he growled making me giggle but then he continued “Today I offer you my hand, heart, and soul in partnership and marriage; to faithfully join you in life’s greatest adventures,inevitable struggles and simple pleasures. To honor and respect you and most of all love you until the end of us because death may be so near but our love goes beyond death,”
As he said his Vow, I literally cried as he slipped on my ring. We said our I dos then the judge said the words that I have been dying all day to hear “With the power vested in me I pronounce you Husband and Wife, the bond between mates is now stronger than ever. Vivian you may now kiss the Alpha, Franklin you may now kiss your Luna,” me and Franklin had bright smiles on our face, he slowly and gently lifted my veil but before our lips could connect an arrow was shot from behind the audience piercing the heart of the judge. We heard screams and shouts as people started to panic. Franklin’s happiness expression faded and was now replace with a dark and dangerous expression. His head snapped towards behind the audience but unfortunately no one stood there.
“There is a note!” Apollo exclaimed as he checked the judge’s pulse but sadly the judge was dead. Franklin furiously grabbed the note attached to the arrow and it read
‘It’s not over’
Apollo and Franklin had a look on their face like they are seriously gonna kill the person along with my father, and my mother. Amelia and me had a horrified look especially me, I still stood where I was the whole wedding. This day was suppose to be magical, it was suppose to be filled with joy and laughter and Love but now everything came crashing down. Everything was a nightmare. I guess my nightmare just begun.
My father then disappeared to make sure the pack was safe, Two members from the Elite pack came up to Franklin and asked “Orders sir?” Franklin gave me a look then he looked at the two members and said “I want half of the pack to get the women and children safe in their houses and no one goes out till I say so. Each member shall stay with a family. Also get a few strong ones to track down whoever did this,” he ordered as my eyes started darting all over the places, sad that the after party wouldn’t take place.
Franklin must of felt how I was feeling since his dark and dangerous expression faded and was now replaced with a concerned and sad look. He cupped my face and smiled charmingly, “I’m sorry,” he said, I then whispered “It’s not your fault Franklin,” he kissed the tip of my nose and said “We shall resume the wedding ceremony when we know that it is safe but for now anywhere you stand is dangerous,” I nodded and then he left me going to make sure that the territory is safe and secure. I was flattered that he would go to the end of the world just to make sure I am safe but I was somehow sad as I stood alone in the middle of our wedding grounds, white fabric and red roses surrounded me. I then looked at my hand and smiled at my ring. Suddenly Franklin came back and pulled me in a deep and passionate kiss.
When he pulled away he looked into my eyes intensely “A wedding is not party nor a performance, at the end of the day if I am married with the person I love then everything is perfect,” he said as he gave me one more kiss and was now off. He knew exactly how to knock me off my feet.
but something was bothering me, it churned uncomfortably in my stomach and made my head go crazy. Will it ever be safe for me and Franklin?

Days, nights and weeks have passed and I barely got to see Franklin. He would be patrolling all day and come home exhausted. I would sit in a chair and just stare out the window wondering how my life would’ve been if nobody has threatened us at the wedding and the wedding actually went on. Would we be on our honeymoon? Would we be announcing to everybody that a pup was on the way?5
Many unanswered questions filled my mind with ‘What if’s’. Some of the pack members would be guarding me every now and then they would ask me if I was alright, I said I was but it was lie but I had to be fine because all I could ever do is sit here and wait if everything is safe and I had a feeling that it would never be safe. It was never safe even before, I was afraid of so many things and now I am afraid of everything.
As each day passed more and more of my happy life was falling apart. Slowly tearing apart, gently passing away. Something I wasn’t prepared for, was that happiness slipping right through my fingers. I was just sitting in my chair doing what I had always did the last passed two weeks, waiting for Franklin to come home. Right as the door opened and closed I quickly bolted right up and ran to the door to see a very tired Franklin standing there. “Hey baby!” he said as he kissed me gently on the lips. The food that I cooked for him was lying right on the table, cold.
“Food is on the table dear,” I said as I was making my way to the table but then he lazily dragged his feet to the stairs saying “I’m not hungry babe,” Making my heart feel like it just weighed more than it did. “Are you thirsty? Or you want to just sit down and talk?” I said trying to persuade him to spend time with me. “not now dear,” he said as he was half way up the stairs. “Okay what about–” I was cut off as he shouted “I”M TIRED Vivian…. sorry, I just want to go to bed,” he whispered the last part but still it made me flinch and back away just a bit.
I couldn’t see my parents nor my friends. Amelia was now living with Apollo and I guess both of them were cuddled up in their own cottage. It was okay for Apollo since he wasn’t the Alpha but mine was. A tear slipped from my eye as soon as I heard the door to mine and Franklin’s bed closed. It’s been weeks since my wedding incident, maybe it was just a jealous pack member who possibly had a crush on me or Franklin and just wanted to scare us. I then went to the table full of food and ate alone.
Again.

Now it had been a month, the search was still on but still no sign of any danger.
I was sitting in my chair as usual waiting for Nathnaiel’s return and as he came right through the door I threw my arms around him. “Hi babe!” I said as we both kissed each other sweetly. “Wanna go on a picnic?” I asked him against his lips. He pulled away and looked at me as if I had two heads. “You know it is dangerous out there Vivian,” he said, I rolled my eyes and said “It has been two months! Maybe it was just someone trying to scare us. Besides you’ll be with me,” he then looked at me with no expression and turned around not saying anything.
Tears were now threatening to pour and I asked at the same time shout “Why? Why do you like pushing me away?” As he turned around to face me, he now saw my face streaming with tears. His face soften and he cooed as he took a few steps towards me “I don’t push you away I–” I cut him off by saying and taking a few steps backwards “Yes you do, you go out and patrol trying to find something that we don’t even know if it’s out there or not and you come home tired and not wanting to do anything with me,” I sobbed out.
He then closed the distance between us and pulled me into a long loving embrace. “I’m sorry Vivian, if that’s how you feel,” he said his voice sending shivers down my spine. “How about we go out on a stroll around the territory, visit some pack members but we won’t go pass the territory alright?” he asked as he pulled away wiping the tears away from my face with his thumb. I nodded with a sweet smile plastered on my face. “but first lets take a bath,” he said as he threw me over his shoulder making me squeal with delight.
He brought me to the shower and brought me under the shower head and sprayed the cold water on me making me scream. He put me down and pinned me against the wall, I was so turned on as Franklin now has the wet look and his white shirt hugging his body and drops of water running down his face. His green eyes stared into mine intensely. “I love you Vivian,” he said as he started kissing my neck making me moan in the process. Our bath was steamy and hot and of course we had a make out session in the bedroom.
After about a few hours we started taking our little stroll around the territory, some of the pack members peeked from their homes just to have a glimpse of the Alpha and Luna. It was overwhelming to be the Luna, especially since people looked up to you with enormous expectations. “Hi Luna,” someone greeted me as they passed by, I nodded and smiled. “Stop being nervous,” Franklin said as he gave my hand a gentle squeeze. “Well how can I not be? when almost all my life I have been the person who is at the bottom of the most likable list,” I snickered at him. He chuckled and said “Now you are at the top, big change but you have me,” Sweetly.
“I’m glad we took this stroll, it’s great to stretch my legs especially since I haven’t shifted for a while now and my wolf has been dying to shift,” I said giving him pleading eye that I’ll shift. He shook his head and said “It’s too dangerous Vivian. You can shift in the backyard with some of the pack members,” making me frown. “What is too dangerous? It has been quiet and no sign at all of any enemy,” I said as if it was no big deal. Franklin sighed and said “We can’t be too sure,” I was about to say something back but we were interrupted by one of the pack members who was running in his wolf form.
He looked at the Alpha intensely since Franklin was the Alpha he didn’t need to shift to hear his member’s thoughts. Suddenly Franklin’s eyes widen and he quickly said “Vivian, I want you to go home along with him. Stay there and don’t go out till I say so,” not making sense at all. “What’s going on Franklin?” I asked worriedly. “No time to explain,” he quickly said as he was about to run off but I quickly caught his arm and said “Yes you do!” as those words left my mouth big grey dirty wolves came into view. I can hear a few screams from children coming from the houses near us. The big grey wolves which were five of them growled and snarled nastily. They all weren’t from any pack we know.
Rogues.
“NOW!” Franklin shouted in his Alpha voice making me stumble back and run as fast as I could. Franklin shifted into his wolf and started fighting two at once and the other pack member was fighting one, leaving two other rogues chasing me but then a thought came to me, I was the Luna. I should be fighting. I then shifted into my white wolf in mid-air and I faced the two rogues who were now scarier up close but they weren’t attacking me they just looked at me as if they just came all the way here to stare at me.
I then reached out to the rogues and speak through mind link ‘Why are you guys here?’ I asked kindly one of them then said ‘We are here to deliver you a message…. our master will not rest till our master sees you dead’ ‘then what are you waiting for?’ I growled ‘Master wants to kill you’ one of them said making me confuse as each moment passed suddenly members of the pack started attacking them and as I turned around I saw Franklin’s Black wolf stare at me with angry eyes he then shouted through the mind link ‘I told you to go home!!’3
‘I am the Luna! The pack needs me and besides they are here for me’ I said proudly he then growled and hissed back ‘The pack needs you alive!! Vivian! You have no right to disobey me! I am still the Alpha my duty is to keep you and our pack safe!’ ‘But I also need to stand besi–‘ he cut me off by shouting ‘You need to know your place Vivian! This is why I haven’t spend time with you because you’ll get in danger! You put your feelings first before your safety! Vivian go home!’ those words hurt like daggers piercing my heart. I then whimpered and walked back home with my tail between my legs.
Nightmares just keep growing.
Will they ever stop?
