Day 4, Thursday
I spent the whole day yesterday crying and refusing to eat. It is past noon now. I think that my eyes finally dried out. Mmm… Nope. There are still tears left. Gotta take care of that.
“Please, Jolene. At least drink water. At this rate you will die,” said Adam.
I kind of feel sorry for him. He has been sitting on that uncomfortable chair without sleeping for almost twelve hours now. He only took a two hours break last night in which Alexander replaced him as my babysitter, also known as the hours in which I screamed my lungs out and told the sadistic SOB how much I hate him. He gave me sedatives to knock me out. Coward.
Besides the hunger, I am not in much pain now. Most of my wounds healed the night they did not inject me with wolfsbane. Sadly, they had begun giving me the shot again because otherwise, my wolf would recover.
Between all the sobbing and the feeling sorry for myself, I have been thinking a lot. It turns out that I still want to be happy. I will eat and get better and leave this place with Aiden. I still do not how, but I will do it. Then, I will find Lancelot and everything will be alright. I need to explain to him what happened.
“Jolene. Are you listening?”
“Yes, I am.” I sat on the bed and took the glass of water he was offering me. “Do you know what? I think that I am hungry,” I said.
“Oh, you are?” He eyed me up as if I had said that I am a pink fairy. I wish I was, but I am just a boring werewolf.
“Yes. I am, but I do not want anything made by your disgusting Alpha.” I decided to take a break from all the crying. I will have time for that later.
“I will ask them to bring you something.” I could tell he was mind linking someone. He sighed and ran his hand through his hair. “Actually, I will go get you food,” he said before leaving the room.
As soon as he left the room, Abigail dashed through the door. “Jolene…” she whispered. “How are you feeling? I brought you this.” She reached into her pockets and pulled out some chocolates, a written note, and a silver knife.
I took the knife and hid it under the mattress, being careful that it would not fall or make any noise. I read the note: Sorry. I am trying to get a gun with silver bullets but they are heavily guarded. Just for now, fight him with this if he touches you. Do not give up. I will get you the gun.
She motioned me to give her the note and walked into the bathroom. I heard her flush the toilet, probably getting rid of the evidence.
Adam returned with the tray of food and she smiled at him and left.

Day 5, Friday
I woke up not feeling as shitty as yesterday. We had breakfast and kept talking. After eating I had spent the whole afternoon talking to Adam. He is so stoic and has an awful sense of humor. However, after a while talking to him is better than the deafening silence of the room.
“I am telling you. You got a nurse who can fight; You got lucky,” I said.
“I am, but sadly, I think your mate is much better than I am. I did not even know that flowers could have so deep meanings.”
“He is the best! For sure,” I said with a smile.
“The Alpha is coming,” Adam whispered.
My smile faded. Soon, Alexander walked through the door. “You can get some sleep now, Adam,” said Alexander.
“With all due respect Alpha, she should rest some more. I can watch over her; I am not tired.”
Alexander growled. “Get out of here,” he said using his Alpha voice.
Adam lowered his head and left.

“Would you just smile for me, darling?” Alexander whispered into my ear.
I refused to even look at him. He was holding me and I could not reach for the knife Abigail had given me.
“One happy video. That is the only thing I am asking for. Look happy for me, gorgeous.”
Alexander had been trying to get me to act like I was in love with him for three hours now. It did not matter what he did, I had refused to give him a reaction. The smell of burning flesh invaded my nostrils again. I closed my eyes and clenched my jaw with all my might, preventing any noise from escaping me. He had pressed a silver knife against my inner thigh for two hours.
I took a sharp air intake when I felt the knife tear my skin. Tears clouded my vision, but I still turned to glare at him, putting all the hatred possible in that look. He cupped my cheek and I spat on his face. He smiled darkly and ran the knife’s edge against my skin while clicking his tongue.
“Look at you. Your beautiful skin is getting all marked. You are making me hurt you. Smile at the camera already.”
I turned away again. As always, the thought of my mate brought me to my happy place and made the pain bearable. The door opening brought me back to this hellish place.
“Turn around Jolene. Look at you little pup.”
My head snapped toward the door and there he was. Aiden, tied up and gagged. Tears actually rolled down my cheeks at the sight of him. He was not hurt, nonetheless, he looked empty. He is so skinny and pale. The guy, I mean monster, holding him slowly ran a silver knife across his bare chest. Like me, Aiden refused to make a sound. I jumped to save him, but Alexander held me back with his strong grip on my waist.
“If you want it to stop, you know what to do,” said Alexander. “I wish you would cooperate. I am not asking for much.”
Aiden shook his head repeatedly without looking up.
“You better keep quiet, kid, or you will be responsible for whatever happens to her.” He held the knife against my thigh again.
I hissed in pain and immediately bit my tongue. I will not show him my pain. Aiden stopped moving completely.
“The warriors of the Silver Fang Pack are famous for never succumbing to torture. So, we only needed to get someone important to them? I will remember that,” said Alexander.
I glared at him while gritting my teeth. My hands were clamped into fists. How bad I wished to kill him now with my bare hands. Who would not react to the pain of their loved ones? Only a beast like him would find amusement in this situation. The smell of burning flesh caught my attention. This time it was not mine.
My gaze fell back to Aiden. The guy holding him had the knife pressed to his chest. My son did not even budge.
“Stop…” I whispered, my head hanging low as well.
“What was that?” asked Alexander, a vicious grin spreading across his face.
“Stop!” I yelled, meeting his sadistic eyes.
He wiped my tears off. His touch sickened me. I think that I threw up in my mouth a little. He began recording again.
“I have finally found the love of my life. My love, Jolene,” he said looking at me with a smile that would make any girl’s heart throb, but not mine. I stared at him wondering how he could be such a fake snake.
He caressed my cheek and kissed my forehead. “What? Is my love at lost of words again? Like last night?”
From the corner of my eye, I saw the guy digging the knife in my pup’s skin again. I took a deep breath. I replace all the bad words I wanted to say with nice ones.
“Sorry, my dear. I am still surprised at how great you are. You are nothing like I thought you were. I cannot believe how lucky I got.”
“I am the lucky one,” he said, nuzzling my cheek.
I held back the need to grimace. This is almost done. Just one video and Aiden will be left alone for a while.
“I love you, Jolene.” He grabbed my chin and leaned down. His face was the only thing I could see. He stared at me expectantly.
“I love you too.” As soon as those words left my lips, my eyes welled with tears. I blinked repetitively to prevent them from falling.
He leaned even closer, tightening my chin grip to prevent me from pulling away. He caught my lips with his. The tears fell from my eyes. He quickly covered my face with his while he forced his lips to mine. He had moved his hand to the back of my head. The click from his cellphone let me know that the torture was over. He let me go.
I curled into a ball but did not pour a single more tear. Alexander told the other guy to leave with Aiden. He put the video on repeat on the TV. I peered at the TV. The sight was horrific. We actually looked in love. My look of disbelief and hurt could easily pass for a timid look. I hated how we looked together. Physically, we could pass as a good couple.
The only thing keeping me sane was the memories of my mate. He said that he would protect me. That I would never be hurt. I am in so much pain now. My wounds began healing, but very slowly. The process was so slow that made my skin itch, and feel like it was on fire.
I almost did not feel the sting of the wolfsbane injection this time. However, the burning sensation in my veins made me realize that I was, in fact, still hopeless to him. At least Larentia was far away from this horror, but I was all alone. I had never liked to depend on other people, not even my brother.
This is everything a plan to make Lancelot hate me, isn’t it? He will know, though. I am sure he can see the horror in my eyes. He will come for me. I cannot do this. I rather die than live like this. I sniffled. No, I am not alone. My mate will know I need him. Lancelot will save me. Please, Lancelot, save me!
Like a chant in my mind, I kept repeating his name repeatedly. I even tried to find the mate bond or mindlink him somehow. It obviously did not work.
I swallowed the lump in my throat. He keeps threatening me like I will ever break to him. I have had enough, today is the last day.
