My eyes widen and I shook my head, quickly. I grabbed her arm.
“No, baby. I didn’t.”I lied as she pulled away from me.
“You’re lying!”She yelled.”In the bathroom when I wasn’t there.”
My heart beat raised and I could hear my wolf growling at me.
‘I told you not to!’ He growled, anger in his voice.
Well, I didn’t have a choice. She came on to me!
‘You always have a choice. It either Madeline or Kaylee and I choose Madeline!’
But she wasn’t there and we were lonely.
‘You were lonely!’He cut the mind link off.
“You lied. Lorin was right.”She muttered and walked to the living room where my parents, her parents and brother were. Her parents stood up and pulled her into a hug. She cried in their arms, not looking at me. A few stray tears ran down my cheek. I wiped them away.
“Honey, are you okay?”Vanessa asked. She shook her head.
“I want to go home.”She choked on her words. Her brother, Mason turned to me and gave me a look. It killed me. My heart stung. Everyone looked at me, with confusion. My mother walked over to me and grabbed my shoulders. I stood inches taller than her.
“What happened?”She asked. I didn’t answer her. My father walked towards me with a deadly look.
“What did you do?”He asked, angry. I glanced at Madeline who was in her mother’s arms, crying. All because of me. This was all my fault. I should have listened to Ken and Madeline would be with me.
“I slept with Kaylee.”
A growl erupted from my father and Madeline’s father. Dad loved Madeline like she was his daughter and I knew he would kill me if I ever did something to her. They both looked like they wanted to kill me. Mom let go of me and shook her her, disapprovingly.
“You slept with fucking Kaylee!”Mason shouted and he gave me a deadly look. If looks could kill.
He walked to me, fuming and punched me, knocking me to the ground. My jaw hurt but it was nothing compared to my heart. I just laid there as he continued to punch me. I deserved it. He was soon pulled off me and held back by Mars and his father.
“You fucking asshole! I thought you would have been good to her! Who the fuck cheats on their mate?!”He yelled, his eyes glowing yellow. His words stung and I was wonder the same thing too. Who cheats on their mate? Madeline is the mother of my child and now I might not be able to ever see that baby. The room was loud and hectic. Mason was swearing at me and Madeline was sobbing, as her parents held her in their arms. I didn’t know what to do. I walked towards Madeline but was stopped by my father.
“Don’t expect her to talk to you. You made a mistake and a mistake that can change this pack.”He shook his head, arms crossed. I felt like a child who was being scold by his father for braking something.”Madeline is leaving.”
“No! She can’t!”I yelled as they took her away. I felt arms holding me back. I tried to talk to my wolf but he wouldn’t answer. I struggled against them and tried to reach out to Madeline.
“You don’t deserve someone like her!”Mason snarled and threw his arm around her shoulder leading her out the house. He was right but I couldn’t let her leave me.
“Madeline!”I called out. She didn’t even turn around to look at me. She left the room and soon I heard a car start. I sunk to the floor with my head in my hands. I whimpered, knowing I would never see her again. They are probably going to move somewhere and she is going to raise the baby by herself.
It’s been weeks since I saw Madeline and my wolf hasn’t even tried to talk to me. Mason’s words replayed in my mind as I stay in my bed smelling Madeline scent on the pillows. I never washed it. Every night, I would sleep with it and hug it like it was Madeline. I don’t go to school. I don’t need it anyway. The only reason I got is to see Madeline. I had all the pictures we’ve ever taken in my nightstand. The pack has been quiet and no one talks to me unless it’s something important. My mother doesn’t talk to me and my father only scolds me. Everyday, I’m growing weaker.
“Get up!”Mars yelled, entering my room. He is the only one who talks to me.
“Not unless Madeline is here right behind you.”I muttered into the pillow. I felt my bed dip.
“You’re a terrible Alpha. You need to get up and go to the gym.”He said. “You got a little chubby during your hibernation.”
I glared at him and he rolled his eyes.
“You need to move on and start being a leader.”He advised.I nodded, he was surprisingly right.
“When did you get so smart?”I asked him, teasingly.
“I was always smart.”He scoffed at me. I smiled but then frowned. Madeline said the same thing before. He left the room and I took a shower. I got dressed in some basketball shorts and a muscle top.
— Madeline’s POV —
My parents moved me to somewhere in Florida. It was hot here and I loved it. Dad was friends with the Alpha and he allowed us to join his pack. My father and brother that is. My brother had a choice to stay home or move with us. He voted on staying with us since he now hated Kyle’s guts. I don’t blame him. I hate Kyle as well but I miss him. My stomach has gotten huge and I’m getting a lot of cramps on my lower stomach. I made new friends here in Florida. They’re really nice.
“Coming to the bonfire tomorrow, Madeline?”Brant asked, catching up to me. Brant was the future Alpha and is my age. Everyone here knew about my pregnancy and they didn’t judge me.
“Yeah, sure.”I smiled at him. We were walking along the beach. I came here with a few friends.
“Good. I hope to see you there.”He winked and ran off to his friends. I shook my head with a smile. Slowly, I found myself forget Kyle. I still can’t believe her slept with Kaylee after he told me he loved me. So much for the love.
“Madeline! We’re going to the ice-cream parlor. Wanna join us?”My new friend, Hannah asked me with a pleading look on her face.
“No thanks. I have to get home!”I called out. She nodded and walked away with her friend before shooting me a warm smile. I continued to walk home which wasn’t to far. Dad and Mason live in the pack house while Mom and I lived in a house a mile or two away from the pack house. Our current Alpha, Alpha Ethan agreed to this. He said to was to keep us safe since we were humans. Dad would come house most of the time other times he would stay in the pack house. Mason was visit as well but not as much as Dad. Mom had been taking care of me and making sure the baby was safe. I have though of one or two names. If it is a boy it would be, Edwin Carter or for a girl it would be Sofia Isabelle Carter. I’m still working on Edwin’s middle name.
“Hi, mom!”I kissed her cheek as I entered the house. She smiled warmly at me and put down her book she was reading. She was in the den reading a random book which she has been doing a lot.
“Hello, sweetie.”Her voice was sweet as she greeted me.”I was thinking we should order pizza and have a movie night.”
I nodded. A movie night with my family sounds good right now.”Fine with me.”
“Great.”
It was already dark outside. The time I left the sun was setting. It was a Saturday so that means I don’t have school tomorrow. The school I went to was a preforming arts school and I’m doing dancing and singing there. Nothing much. Brant goes to that school as well and he sings just like me. He also plays the guitar. Mom ordered the pizza while I set up the den.
“I was meaning to ask you something.”Mom said, suspiciously. The look on her face had me looking at her weirdly.
“Okay. Ask away.”I nodded, putting down my pizza.
“I heard from an Alpha that a certain future Alpha has a crush on you.”She smirked, wiggling her neat eyebrows. I looked away, blushing. I knew who she was talking about. Brant.
“I-I…U-um..”I stuttered. She shot me a wink.
“I knew it! He’s a little too nice to you.”She grinned and I rolled my eyes, my cheeks still pink.
“Whatever.”I mumbled.”Plus, I don’t want to be in a relationship in, like, forever. Since my last one is a cheating asshole.”
My mom scolded me for swearing and shook her head. I put down my pizza feeling tears come to my eyes. She noticed and pulled me into her arms. I was shaking and trying my best not to cry.
“Why, mom?”I cried, not able to hold it in.”I tried my best to make him happy. I loved him.”
She rubbed my back soothingly,”Honey, it wasn’t your fault. You were the best you could be. Kyle doesn’t deserve you.”
“Why couldn’t boys be more like girls? And understand how we feel?”
“They probably do try to understand but its just hard for them to show it. “
“It hurts, mom.”Tears were just falling down my face as I held her tighter like she would lose her any moment now.
“Your heart is going to be broken but that doesn’t mean it can be fixed. You just need to wait for that special someone and trust me, they will find a way to fix it. Even if it doesn’t seem possible.”She chuckled, sadly. I nodded and sniffled.
“I love you, mom.”
“I love you too, sweetie.”
