“Good Morning, my lovely fiancée.”Kyle kisses my cheek as I wash the dishes. The twins were siting at the table eating and Kyle just woke up.
“Good Morning.”I chirped with a smile and rinse my hands before wrapping them around his neck, playing with his brown hair.
His hands go around my waist and he presses his lips against mine.
“What are we doing today?”I ask and walk over to the table, wiping Edwin’s face that has syrup all over it.
“I don’t know. What do you want to do?”
“Wait, don’t you have a meeting today?”I reminded him. His eyes widen and he runs to the bedroom. Sofia and Edwin giggle at Kyle as he rushes to put his clothes on.
“I forgot.”He says, shoving his shoes on. He runs out the front door.
“Are you forgetting something?”I call out, knowing he can here me. He comes back into the kitchen and kisses the twins’s cheeks.
“Bye daddy!”They kiss his cheek and he smiles, going out the door again.
“Forgetting somebody else?”
He comes back into the kitchen, rolling his eyes.”Of course, how could I forget my beautiful fiancée?”He places his lips on mine for a short kiss and pulls away. I peck his lips once more and he walks to the door.
I shake my head and pick up the now empty plates. I walk over to the sink and place them in there.
“Mommy, I’m bored.”Edwin complains as I stare at him with an amused expression.
“Me too. What are we doing today?”Sofia agrees, looking at me with her big eyes.
“We are gonna go to lake, near the woods.”
“I’m scared. What if there is something scary in there?”Edwin frowns. I pick him up and kiss him cheek.
“Then I will protect you.”I look at Sofia.”Both of you.”
I decided to take Fred with me just in case. He was as excited as the kids. I put the kids in their bathing suit and I put my own bikini on. I threw on some shorts and put my hair in a bun.
We walked down stairs where Fred was and then we walked to the Lake. It was a bit of a walk but nothing too much. Finally, I saw the clear water of the lake. Further down in the woods was a huge cliff where you could see the ocean.
“Careful!”I shouted out at the twins walked into the water. They nodded and held hands, putting their feet into the water. They back up, noticing how cold it was and raced over to me.
“The water is too cold.”Sofia frowned and Edwin nodded.
I stoop down to there level and said,”Why don’t you ask Uncle Fred if he can go in there with you?”
“Good idea!”They ran off to Fred who was looking at the cold water with a frown. All of them held hands and walked into the water, yelping that it was too cold. I giggled watching from my spot of the dock. Something caught my eyes and I looked over in the woods. My breath hitched as a figure walked out from behind the trees.”Fred!”
Fred walked over to him, immediately with a growl.”What are you doing here?!”
The twins ran over to me and I pushed them behind my back. He peered over Fred’s shoulder and smirked at me.”I hear Madeline was back.”
“What do you want, Lorin?”

“I came to see you.”He says and his eyes glance at the twins who were behind me.”They look like their father.”
Edwin whimpers and his tiny fingers tangle themselves with mine.”Leave, Lorin. You’re not welcomed here.”
He raises an eyebrow.”I remember a time when we were friends and everyday you would ditch Kyle to see me.”He says Kyle’s name with disgust.
“That was before you kidnapped me.”I spoke through my teeth. He was upsetting my children and I don’t want to see them upset.
“Why bring up the past, Madeline?”
“You have to go.”Fred ordered and Lorin clearly didn’t like this. His eyes turned black as he glared at Fred.”Go back to your pack, you are on our territory.”
Lorin chuckles, humourless and slowly backs away, his gaze locked on me. We stare at each other until he is out of sight. Once he is I let out a deep breath and turn away, to look at the twins.
They both look up at me with their big eyes, fear in them.”Who was that?”Sofia asks. I kneel down in front of them.
“No one important. Now let’s go back home, okay? I’ll make us some cookies.”I tell them and watch as the fear from their eyes fade and turn into excitement.
“Yay!”
I look at Fred who is staring out into the woods.”Are you coming with us, Fred?”
He glances at me and shakes his head.”No, I need to notify the rest of the pack guards about Lorin so he doesn’t come back.”
“Oh okay. Thank you.”I nod and grab the twins little hands as we walk to the pack house.
“I don’t like him.”Edwin frown as we enter the house. I kneeled down and ran my hand through his hair and grabbed both of their hands.
“I know but don’t worry about it. I’m sure daddy will be home soon and you will never have to see that man agin.”I told them, placing a kiss on each other their foreheads. They both nod and peck my cheek. I stand up and we walk to the bedroom.”Why don’t I get you guys changed?”
I make sure to put their clothes on right and that they are okay now. I think seeing Lorin scared them and it made me want to kill him for it. I change out of my bath suit and change into some shorts and a tank top.
I hear the front door open and footsteps come up the stairs. The door opens there stand my handsome mate. He pulls us in his arms and kisses each of our foreheads.”Kyle?”
“Fred notified me that Lorin went beyond our borders. I thought he was done.”He says as I put the kids on the couch so they watch TV. His jaw clenched and he pulls me close to him.”Last time we saw him, he kidnapped you. He wants you, Madeline and I won’t let him have you.”
“I know. Calm down.”I whisper into his ear while rubbing his bicep. He relaxes under my touch and pulls me even closer to him.”I love you and I will never stop.”
His brown eyes stare into mine and he leans in to kiss me.”I love you and I never stopped.”He says after breaking the kiss.”Now, someone will have to be with you and the kids at every second.”
I groan but nod.”Fine but I don’t think he will be that stupid and try it again. He knows what happened the last time.”
“But Dianna isn’t here.”He reminded me and I frowned.”She left him and now he thinks that you could fill in her spot as being his mate.”
I nodded, with a frown and pulled him to me, holding him tightly. He puts his hand on my back and breathes softly.
That night we all watched a movie and now the movie was over. The kids had fallen asleep a while ago. I picked up Edwin and Kyle picked up Sofia. As we were walking up the stairs, I’d notice how Kyle was staring at her with love. She is his princess. I looked down a Edwin, He is my prince. The kids have seemed to pick their favourite parent.
We placed them in their beds and watched them for a few minutes to see if they are comfortable. Once we saw that they were comfortable, we walked into our room.
I slipped off my clothes and yawned, running a hand through my hair. I turned around and was met with Kyle’s brown eyes. He smiled at me and pecked my lips. We went under the duvet and slowly feel asleep.
